The Final Exams that Romanian students take after graduating high school studies are known under the official name of the Bacalaureat Exam. However, most people prefer the short term “bac”.
The Romanian Bacaluareat, unlike the French one, has a single degree. The Exam consists in five modules, each one being graded separately. The overall grade of the three separate papers that form Module E is taken in consideration for the students’ admission to universities and other higher education institutions.

Each exam takes three hours.
